Meral Sartekin, one of the founders of Kelim Jewelry, grew up in a rural village in Turkey. She later left her country to study abroad in Zurich, Switzerland where she married Halil and had her first daughter. In 1992 the couple founded Kelim, a boutique specializing in handmade goods from their native home, Turkey. Meral and Halil began designing jewelry inspired by the breathtaking patterns in the traditional Turkish carpets and the natural beauty of their adopted country, Switzerland. Together they have built their collection and are solely focusing on Kelim Jewelry. Their pieces have a unique look to them that captivates you. The pieces have a soft glow about them since they have a brushed finish. 

Kelim Jewelry is 925 silver with a fine brushed silver finish. Each peace is well crafted and comfortable! It is fun to mix and match these pieces with other silver finishes for an eclectic look. Come in and check out their line at the Gem Garden! You won't leave empty handed! 

How to Clean Brushed Silver:

Wash tarnished item with a mild soap then place the piece on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot. Add a baking soda solution of 1/4 cup baking soda and a few teaspoons of salt into 1 quart boiling water. Cover for a few minutes. Then rinse and let dry throughly.

Here at the Gem Garden we love to add new designs and designers to our collection online and at the store! Liztech jewelry is one of our new designers that we are very excited to introduce our dear customers to! Liztech although is new for us has been creating beautiful jewelry since 1985. Her studio and manufacturing takes place in an old, repurposed Bank in East Stroudsburg making her a local artists for those of us in Pa. Jill, Liztech's founder, started her jewelry passion when she was a young girl making jewelry and selling her pieces at local craft fairs. After much study she discovered a brilliant technique by using mirrored architectural laminate made of aluminum, polyethylene and electroplated chrome which lead to the first piece of Liztech. With many refinements to her technique, Jill began to use vintage glass stones to preserve the classy,vintage look she loves. With her love of art and design Jill has evolved into an amazing jewelry designer with pieces selling all over the world! Meet our New Designer Anna Beck

Recently Anna Beck Designs has captured the Gem Garden's eye. Anna Beck is a brilliant jewelry designer that focuses on a contemporary jewelry collection that uses old techniques from the Far East. Her beautiful collaboration between gold and silver is not only luxurious but comfortable and easy to wear. Her pieces have an air about them that makes one feel special when wearing one of Anna's designs. Each piece in the collection is layered with tiny gold or silver disks, with each disk of precious metal individually cut and affixed to the metal base. Her collection is all handmade in Bali, which also influences her designs and makes them have a classic style with exciting accents. If you are looking for a great treat for yourself or for a loved one this is a great choice!
